Russia has expanded the sanctions list for British citizens to include those who whipped up anti-Russian activity. Today, December 30, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The corresponding note was handed over to the British Ambassador Deborah Bronnert, summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“She was told that in response to the unconstructive and unfriendly actions of the British authorities related to the adoption in October this year of unacceptable and unreasonable restrictive measures against Russian citizens under the pretext of their alleged involvement in the incident with Alexei Navalny, the Russian side, based on the principle of reciprocity , made a decision to expand the number of British citizens who are barred from entering the territory of our country”, – the Foreign Ministry said.
The response list “includes those who are involved in escalating anti-Russian sanctions activity.”
As EADaily reported, on October 15, the EU imposed sanctions on Russian citizens in connection with the incident with Alexei Navalny. On the eve, Russia has banned the entry of representatives of the leadership of the security and intelligence structures of Germany. The expansion of the blacklist came in response to EU sanctions imposed in connection with the alleged “Russian trace” in the hacking of the computer systems of the Bundestag in 2015
