Biden intends to tackle ‘cyber threats from Russia’

Newly elected US President Joe Biden has called for modernising US defences amid “growing cyber threats from Russia and China”

“We must be able to innovate and rethink our defences against growing threats in new areas such as cyberspace”, –  Biden told a news conference.

In Biden’s view, to “address the challenges posed by Russia and China,” we need to modernize “defense priorities to better deter future aggression.”

Earlier it was reported that the US federal government’s computer networks were subjected to a massive hacking attack. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in an interview, laid out the theory that Russia was “involved”. The current US president, Donald Trump, said that “China may have orchestrated the cyber attack”.
