At least seven security personnel have been killed in a terrorist attack on a militarized Frontier Corps post in Pakistan’s southwestern Baluchistan province. This was announced on Sunday by the Xinhua news agency with reference to the press service of the army.
According to him, the clash between security officials and terrorists took place late Saturday evening. After an intense firefight, the military managed to repulse the attack of the militants, after which the territory was cordoned off and the escape routes were blocked to arrest the fleeing terrorists.
“Large-scale operations to search for militants and demining are ongoing. Such cowardly actions by hostile elements backed by anti-government forces will not be allowed to sabotage hard-won peace and prosperity in Baluchistan”, – Pakistani Armed Forces Spokesman Major General Babar Iftikhar said on Twitter.
“The security services are determined to thwart their nefarious designs at all costs”.
