As reported by TASS, on Sunday, the Civil Aviation Administration of the PRC announced that the Chinese authorities will completely stop passenger flights with the UK from December 28 due to a new strain of coronavirus detected in this country.
As specified in the released statement, this measure is temporary and is valid until January 10. The corresponding decision applies to both Chinese and foreign airlines.
On December 14, the head of the British Ministry of Health Matt Hancock said that British scientists have identified a new, mutated type of coronavirus, which may be associated with the rapid spread of the disease in the southeast of England.
According to him, preliminary analysis shows that this strain is spreading faster than known and may be 70% more infectious.
