Three United Nations peacekeepers were killed and two more injured in a rebel attack in the Central African Republic (CAR). This was announced by the official representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarrick.
“The Secretary General deeply condemns today’s attack by unidentified armed insurgents on the CAR military forces and the UN mission in the country, which took place in the city of Decoa, Kemo province, and the city of Bakuma, Mbomu province. In Decoa, three peacekeepers from Burundi were killed and two more injured”, – he said.
The UN Secretary General called on the CAR authorities to investigate this war crime and bring those responsible to justice.
