US senator proposes legislation to protect against ‘Kremlin aggression’

US Democratic Senator Ben Cardin has said that the hacking attack on US government agencies, which he believes was carried out by Russia, is a reason to pass the “Protecting American Security from Kremlin Aggression Act”

“The Trump administration should immediately provide a detailed high-level briefing to Congress, as such an ongoing attack could potentially be seen as an act of war”, –  Cardin said.

The senator said the “aggressors” must be held accountable and “feel the full implications and seriousness of the US authorities’ response”.

“I urge my colleagues to consider the ‘Protecting American Security from Kremlin Aggression Act’ prepared by representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties”, –  the US senator urged.
