To date, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 9.5 million doses of vaccine have already been distributed in the United States, including Moderna, but the situation is not changing.
The United States became the leader in the spread of the coronavirus due to incompetent government actions at the beginning of the year. Over the months of the pandemic, 326,000 Americans have died from COVID-19, and that number continues to rise. In such conditions, the only hope for the United States was a vaccine, but hospitals were absolutely not ready for its appearance.
Vaccination started very slowly, as medical facilities had to look for employees to work in vaccination clinics when the drug had already been received. In addition, Pfizer vaccine is known to be stored at about -70 degrees Celsius. In fact, the drug remains frozen until the injection, and it takes time to use it.
As a result, some hospitals were able to receive about a hundred vaccinations on the first day. This alignment casts doubt on the government’s ambitious plans. With only a million doses of vaccine used as of Wednesday morning, healthcare providers across the country will have to vaccinate more than 2 million people daily by the end of the month to meet the deadline.
