Protesters try to block Pashinyan’s motorcade in Yerevan

The protesters blocked the intersection of Tigran Mets and Melik-Adamyan streets in the center of Yerevan to obstruct the movement of the motorcade of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and ministers, which had previously participated in a government meeting.

Law enforcement officials tried to get the protesters out of the road, calling for the road to be opened. The protesters resisted, resulting in clashes with police officers. Some of the protesters were detained.

On Thursday, December 24, a government meeting was held under the leadership of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Protest actions began in Yerevan after the signing of a trilateral agreement by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on the complete cessation of hostilities in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. The protesters consider Pashinyan “responsible for the defeat in the war” and demand his resignation.
