Pfizer and BioNTech test another vaccine allergy case in the US

According to Newsweek magazine, experts in New York are checking another case of an acute allergic reaction that arose after vaccination with a coronavirus drug developed jointly by Pfizer and BioNTech.

According to the magazine, the acute allergic reaction occurred in a healthcare professional. This is the first such case in New York and the seventh in the United States.

“The use of vaccines leads to side effects and the occurrence of allergic reactions, such cases are known and occur”, – it was justified in the city department of health and mental hygiene.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) previously said it is studying about five cases of acute allergic reaction to the coronavirus vaccine, which has been approved by the regulator. Experts believe allergies can be caused by a chemical called polyethylene glycol, which is found not only in Pfizer’s vaccines, but also in vaccines from Moderna.
