Pelosi: US Congress to bypass Donald Trump’s veto on defense budget

US Congress Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the draft defense budget received enough votes from members of the House of Representatives to overcome the president’s lockdown.

“The US Congress will vote to override the veto that President Donald Trump has imposed on the defense budget. A meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled for December 28”, – Pelosi said.

Earlier it was reported that 300 out of 438 members of the House of Representatives voted for the draft defense budget. The previous evening, the current US President Donald Trump vetoed the draft defense budget for 2021.

“The president’s veto deprives our country and allies of tools to protect global security, including cybersecurity”, – the speaker said.
