Kiev will not impose sanctions against Belarus yet – Ukrainian Foreign Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that at this stage it is inappropriate to impose sanctions against Belarus, but “Kiev is ready for this”.

“If we take the current situation in Belarus as a starting point, then I am still against any economic sanctions against Belarusian companies or sectors of the economy. We have fundamental political differences with Belarus, but I do not see as of now, I emphasize, as of now, a fundamental need for economic sanctions”, – Kuleba said.

According to him, “Kiev is ready to join the EU’s personal sanctions against Belarusian officials”. He also stressed that he was “ready to talk to Tikhanovskaya”, whom “the Ukrainian partners see as a key leader of the opposition”.
