European and Euro-Atlantic integration is the main goal of Georgia’s foreign policy. This was stated by the candidate for the post of Prime Minister of the country Giorgi Gakharia in the parliament during a meeting with members of the Georgian Dream faction.
“European and Euro-Atlantic integration has always been the main goal of our foreign policy, especially in recent years. As you know, more than 80% of the population of Georgia directly supports Georgia’s full integration with the European Union, as well as integration with Euro-Atlantic structures. Leaving aside all recent events in the region, it became clear once again that a broader representation of our partners in our region is the most important basis for further security guarantees for Georgia”, – he said.
According to acting. Prime Minister, everything that the Georgian authorities did in 2019-2020 towards cooperation with NATO was the best in terms of improving the quality of this cooperation.
“We must continue this process and open new directions, for example, such as the Black Sea, security, where Georgia can play its specific role, fulfill its function”, – Gakharia said.
