For the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, mending relations with Russia is like making a deal with the devil

Gabrielus Landsbergis said that there is no point in trying to improve relations with Russia, as this is “a devilish temptation”.

According to RIA Novosti, in the minister’s opinion, the proposals of international players to restart relations between Lithuania and Russia are “illusory and naive”. This “naivety” is also sometimes seen in the ranks of the Lithuanians.

“Sometimes I notice this in a business connected with Russia, in the expertise that comes from it that relations can be warmed up, improved… I believe that we should not give up. These are certain devilish temptations”, – Landsbergis said.

He added that there is “no need” to plan for any policy changes.
