The pipe-lay barge is expected to begin work on two parallel branches of the pipeline from 15 January 2021.
According to RBC, citing a notice to mariners published by the Danish Maritime Administration, the pipe-laying barge Fortuna is expected to begin laying pipes on two parallel branches of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline in the exclusive economic zone of Denmark from January 15, 2021.
“The vessels Murman and Baltic Researcher of the Russian Marine Rescue Service and others will work together with Fortuna. According to RBC, a temporary forbidden zone will be created in the area of work at 200 m to each side of the pipe laying”, – TASS specifies.
The Fortuna barge is slated to lay 2.6 km of pipeline in Germany’s exclusive economic zone by the end of 2020. Then the construction of the last section of Nord Stream 2 in the territorial waters of Denmark will begin.
