After the events in Belarus and the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, the EU initiative is bursting at the seams
According to Censor.net during an online briefing, Ukraine’s representative to the EU, Ukrainian Ambassador to Belgium Mykola Tochitsky said that EU policy within the framework of the Eastern Partnership maintains great potential, and the “trio of associations” – Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova – can play a consolidating role for this program.
“We continue to work on the tasks of the summit. Three associated members and participants of the Eastern Partnership don’t miss the opportunity to maintain a dialogue, we have serious achievements in economy, information exchange, in infrastructure projects. Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova can become a uniting element for others to join the talks”, – the Ukrainian diplomat said.
Perhaps Ukraine is really glad that now European partners will be able to pay more attention to it, but in fact, the very project of the Eastern Partnership, which originally, besides the named countries, included also Belarus, Armenia and Azerbaijan, is falling apart.
The sharp cooling between Minsk and Brussels, caused by the well-known events in Belarus, as well as the open confrontation between Baku and Yerevan, in reality put an end to the European adventure, no matter what diplomats say.
