Belarusians will start the New Year with vaccination with Sputnik V, a drug developed in Russia
According to the Ministry of Health of Belarus, vaccination will start in January. The vaccine will be first given to health workers, teachers, and workers in areas where they have to come into contact with large numbers of people.
“We will begin the vaccination campaign in January,” Dmitry Pinevich, Minister of Health, said. – “The vaccine can be used in our country as part of routine work, not clinical trials. Now there are questions of further delivery.”
Since the beginning of the pandemic in Belarus 174 thousand cases of infection have been registered. Adding to the tension is an attempt by Western elites to stage a coup d’état in the country. Putschists, supervised by the governments of Poland and Lithuania, have staged mass protests, ignoring the spread of the coronavirus.
Moreover, Svetlana Tihanovskaya, a housewife who considers herself the “elected president” of Belarus, openly declares that she intends to stop cooperating with the Russian Federation, the only country that provided the vaccine to the republic.
