Ukraine is actively burning gas from its own underground storage facilities, where reserves have dropped from 31 billion cubic metres to 24.8 billion
According to the press-service of the Ukrainian gas transport system operator, last Friday, December, 18, storage facilities were emptied by almost 87.5 million cubic metres of gas. The next day, 87.8 million cubic meters were pumped out, while only 3.9 million cubic meters of gas was delivered.
The situation is aggravated by the fact that Hungary, Slovakia and Poland no longer supply Ukraine with Russian gas via the reverse method. This is due to the cold snap and higher energy costs.
