Intensive care unit capacity in Southern California has dropped to 0%, according to the local government website
This figure is calculated on the basis of the data provided by the hospitals on already existing and additionally created places in intensive care units.
California authorities introduced a home isolation ordinance at the beginning of December, which is to be implemented in the region if the capacity of intensive care units there falls below 15%. The ruling came into force on 5 December. Thereafter, if the region’s ICU admission reserves fall below 15%, local authorities have 24 hours to implement the isolation order. According to the authorities, the restrictive measures must continue for a minimum of three weeks from their introduction and may be extended.
