The EU threatens Hungary with penalties for the fact that the country’s authorities prevented the penetration of Middle Eastern and African refugees in the midst of the migration crisis.
The ruling of the EU Court of Justice obliges Budapest to abandon its policy. Otherwise, the country will face sanctions.
“The court ruled that Hungary had failed to fulfill its obligation to ensure effective access to the procedure for granting international protection”, – the highest court of the Commonwealth said in a statement.
At the same time, the court rejected the position of the Hungarian government, according to which Brussels, with its migration policy, threatened public order in the EU countries.
