The United Kingdom could improve relations with Russia, but not after the Salisbury incident, for which Moscow was unsubstantiatedly blamed.
As previously reported by News Front, a defector, former GRU colonel Sergei Skripal, lived in the British city of Salisbury. The British authorities used it for a major anti-Russian campaign. In London, it was argued without evidence that on March 4, 2018, Skripal, along with his daughter, was poisoned with a Novichok-type poison.
Although the British authorities were never able to provide the public with real confirmation of their version, at the moment they practically do not remember what happened. Experts believe the Skripals case was used to distract the attention of
British subjects from the Brexit failures that Theresa May’s government was aware of.
British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, in turn, says that it is the Skripals case that interferes with the normalization of relations between London and Moscow. He also complained about the activity of the Russian fleet near the borders of the kingdom.
“I think we will always encourage them to improve their relations and follow the principles of the rule of international law, as well as make sure that we return to good relations”, – the official said in an interview with The Daily Telegraph.
