Lukashenko says Belarus will create its own vaccine against coronavirus

Alexander Lukashenko on December 15, during a visit to the regional clinical hospital in Mogilev, said that Belarus would develop its own vaccine against COVID-19.

According to him, three options for vaccination in the country are being considered: in the near future to purchase an already produced vaccine in order to inoculate risk groups, to establish production of a Russian drug in Belarus, or to develop its own vaccine.

“I am very glad that our scientists set their sights on the production of their own vaccine. I am convinced that we will not get away from this infection. It will stay with us like the flu. So we need a vaccine. We need to develop our own, there are specialists. We must take it up and not be afraid. The money there, I looked, is small: somewhere around 5 million Belarusian rubles. And we will recoup it, we just need to move quickly in this direction”, – Lukashenko said.

Communicating with doctors, he expressed his conviction that Belarusian scientists are able to create a new vaccine against COVID-19.
