Russian army inflicts intensive airstrikes on militants in Syria

According to the London-based non-governmental organization Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), over the past 24 hours, more than 20 fighter-bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force have carried out over 35 strikes on the positions of ISIS terrorist group fighters in the provinces of Raqqa, Hama and Homs.

There have been no reports on the approximate number of casualties among ISIS members.

Intense airstrikes coincided with ongoing combing operations by ground troops from Russia and Syrian government forces in several sectors of the region, which spans the three provinces, SOHR notes.
