UIA plane crash: Iran will not pay compensation to the families of the victims

The Iranian authorities have withdrawn the offer on payments to families of the lost passengers of the plane of the International airlines of Ukraine which has been shot down in January of this year over Tehran

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevgeny Yenin.

“According to my information, the government has already withdrawn this proposal because it was supposed that 200 million would be allocated from the National Development Fund, which led to serious internal discussions in Iranian society. But we will welcome the Iranian government’s plans to reserve a certain amount of money in the budget to pay compensation”, –  Yenin said.

It is also noted that the amount of compensation has not yet been discussed with the Iranian authorities, as it will depend on the circumstances of the disaster and the level of cooperation in the investigation of the tragedy.
