Media: China is building military camps along its border with India

According to Indian intelligence, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army has established new bases for ground-to-air missiles

China is building military camps in its rear areas along the entire Line of Actual Control (LAC), which serves its undemarcated border with India. This was reported by The Times of India on Wednesday, citing Indian government sources.

“The People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA) is building military camps along the entire length of the LAC in order to increase the readiness of troops during military conflicts. According to our data, construction work is underway in 20 such military camps against the backdrop of continuing military tensions in eastern Ladakh”, –  sources said.

According to Indian intelligence, the PLA has set up new bases for ground-to-air missiles in the immediate vicinity of the LAC, and has deployed additional squadrons of military drones and military transport aircraft at the airfields of Kashgar, Khotan and Lhasa in Tibet, and continues to build new personnel and logistics rear bases. 60 km from the state border of Arunachal Pradesh at Nyanglu, PLA has deployed an electronic warfare centre to suppress signals from India’s GSATs.

The Ladakh area is now home to 60,000 Chinese troops, heavy artillery, missiles and tank regiments. India has three mountain divisions with 50,000 troops in the region.
