Joe Biden, who became the elected president of the United States according to the American media, intends to nominate retired General Lloyd Austin as a candidate to head the Pentagon

Earlier, the Politico newspaper, referring to its sources in the defense department, reported that Joe Biden is going to nominate Lloyd Austin for the post of Minister of Defense. On Tuesday, December 8, Joe Biden officially announced his intention to make Austin head of the Pentagon.
“We need a proven leader who fits the challenges we face”, – Biden said.
He said Austin “played a key role in the return of 150,000 U.S. troops” who took part in combat operations in Iraq. According to the Democrat, “Austin acted as a statesman, represented our country with honor and dignity, and focused on his people.
“Today, once again, I ask Lloyd Austin to complete a task for the country – this time as a candidate for Secretary of Defense. I know he’ll do a great job”, – Joseph Biden said.
Lloyd austin left the military more than four years ago, but U.S. law says it will take seven years after the military resigns before he can take over the Pentagon. Biden expressed the hope that “senators will make an exception in this case.
