Pfizer will not provide US with coronavirus vaccine

Pharmaceutical company Pfizer said it would not be able to ramp up supplies of the COVID-19 vaccine until next summer, as most of the stock was sold to other countries. It is reported by the Washington Post newspaper.

The US authorities will not be able to get the coronavirus vaccine on time, therefore, doubts arise whether they will be able to adhere to the schedule and vaccinate most of the population by the end of spring.

According to WP, some US officials doubt that vaccines from other companies, which are currently developing, may not be enough to fill the gap in Pfizer’s supply.

“Due to logistics problems, Pfizer will deliver half the vaccine doses by the end of the year: 50 million instead of the originally planned 100 million”, – the Wall Street Journal reported.
