Kosachev told how the parliamentary observation mission in Venezuela ended

Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Konstantin Kosachev on his Facebook page told about the elections to the National Assembly in Venezuela.

“The elections to the National Assembly took place on the terms and conditions determined by the 1999 Constitution and the current legislation, which no one changed for the elections. None of the parties were denied registration; the boycott of the extreme right-wing radical opposition was its own decision. Oblivion of Guaido, no matter how hard the Westernizers try, is not far off, of which there are many”, – the diplomat said.

According to him, the organization of the voting process was “very progressive” and gives reason to believe that there was no falsification. Based on this, there is no reason to question the legitimacy of the elections.

“President Maduro found time to meet with the Russian delegation twice (!) – before voting day, together with other international observers, and after it, separately and in detail. This confirms the special and promising nature of bilateral relations”, – said Kosachev.

He believes that the situation in Venezuela “is definitely not black and white, as it sometimes seems from the outside. It is deep, multi-layered and varied, like in any country. To understand this, you have to be here”.
