The results of the Venezuelan National Assembly elections will not reflect the will of the Venezuelan people, because there were fraudulent votes, said US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo
“Electoral fraud has already occurred in Venezuela. The results announced by the illegitimate [Nicolas] Maduro regime will not reflect the will of the Venezuelan people. What is happening today is fraud and forgery, not elections”, – he wrote on Twitter.
The polls in the Venezuelan parliamentary elections opened on Sunday at 06:00 local time and will run until 18:00. The Venezuelans will be electing 227 parliamentarians. There are 14,000 candidates from 107 political forces claiming seats in Parliament.
Opponents of the current government, led by impostor Juan Guaydo, who currently control Parliament, have repeatedly accused the authorities of irregularities in preparation for the elections. This led to 27 opposition parties, including Democratic Action, Justice First and People’s Will, deciding to boycott the December elections. However, individual representatives of these political forces will still take part in the race.
