Merkel talked to Putin about the incident with Navalny

They also discussed Nagorno-Karabakh, Ukraine and the Norman process.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, efforts in a Norman format and the incident with blogger Alexei Navalny. This was reported to a TASS correspondent on Monday by a representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers.

“The Chancellor held a telephone conversation with Russian President Putin today. The Chancellor and the President discussed Nagorno-Karabakh, Ukraine and the Norman process and the Navalny case”, –  the German government said.

Earlier on Monday, the Kremlin press office informed that Putin and Merkel had discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh in detail. During the conversation it was stressed that consistent implementation of the agreements recorded in the statement of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia and the Prime Minister of Armenia on November 9, contributes to the overall stabilization of the situation in the region. The sides expressed readiness for further cooperation on the situation in Karabakh within the OSCE Minsk Group.

The President and Chancellor also discussed the settlement in Ukraine. Concern was expressed about the lack of progress in the implementation of “Minsk-2”.
