The State Department demanded that Germany impose a moratorium on Nord Stream 2

The US Embassy in Germany is demanding that the German government stop building the Nord Stream 2 pipeline

The German government’s permit for the construction of the gas pipeline has now come into effect by the end of the year. An application for the next year with a deadline of the end of April has also been submitted.

Against this backdrop, US Charge d’Affaires ad interim in Germany Robin Quinville demanded that the construction of Nord Stream 2 be stopped in order to send a “clear signal” to Russia.

“Now it’s time for Germany and the EU to call for a moratorium on pipeline construction,” Quinville said.
