Germany named the Nord Stream 2 pipe-layer in its waters

A special Fortune barge flying the Russian flag will be laying pipes for the Nord Stream-2 pipeline in German waters

This was made known from a fresh navigation warning issued by the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency.

The document states that in the Baltic Sea, south of the shallow area of Adlergrund, the vessel “Fortune” will conduct underwater operations on the pipeline from 5 to 31 December.

The call sign of the Russian pipe-laying barge “Fortune” is indicated. Fortune is currently stationed at the German port of Wismar, shows MarineTraffic.

Earlier, the company that owns the barge, MRTS, announced that it would not participate in the construction of the pipeline, but then the barge “Fortune” has changed its owner – it is a small company “Universal Transport Group”, included in the register of small businesses.
