Trump confirms blocking military budget

The incumbent US President Donald Trump harshly criticized Congress for the draft military budget that he agreed upon, in which there was a mention of the exemption of social networks from responsibility.

“It is very sad for our country. It appears that Republican Senate Armed Services Chairman James Inhofe will not include the termination of Section 230 [Communications Ethics Act – Note] in the draft military budget. Very bad for our national security and electoral integrity. The last chance to solve this. I will use a veto”, – the president wrote on his Twitter.

Section 230 deals with communications ethics and protects technology companies from legal action for posting, removing, or otherwise moderating user-generated content. According to it, Internet companies are not considered a publisher or independent source of information. According to Trump, this will become a big threat to the national security of the state, including for the electoral process.

The draft US military budget for the next fiscal year (early October 1), which Donald Trump plans to block, was supposed to amount to $740 billion.
