Kazakhstan launches production of Russian vaccine against COVID-19

The agreements with Russian leader Vladimir Putin will allow Kazakhstan to begin production of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, when the daily increase in the number of infected people in the republic is approaching a thousand.

The issue of starting the production of the drug was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin and Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In a communiqué following the talks, it is said that the vaccine will begin to be produced from December 22. This will allow mass vaccinations to begin as early as next year.

“In a separate block, the head of state was informed that in accordance with his agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine will begin on December 22 of this year in Kazakhstan. The launch of mass voluntary vaccination of the country’s population is planned from the beginning of 2021”, – the statement said.

The Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine is the first of its kind to be registered. Until now, the West has tried to criticize the development of Russian scientists, accusing them of haste. The reasons for such statements were political in nature. Meanwhile, many countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, have become interested in Russian development.
