“Tariff Maidan” is possible in Ukraine

The National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the field of energy and utilities, approved draft resolutions on November 25 to increase tariffs for regional gas for gas delivery.

In an interview with the ZIK TV channel, the former Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, People’s Deputy of Ukraine (Batkivshchyna faction) Oleksiy Kucherenko said that the Tariff Maidan could begin when someone takes something from the Ukrainians because of debts for housing and communal services.

“Tariff Maidan” can begin when someone takes something from someone for debts. This was done by the European countries, the Baltic States did. But this can be done when 1% of the population has debts, you can go and start picking up ten people in the city demonstratively. And when there are millions of them, then try to take something somewhere. And you try to call in and turn off some of the village from the gas or try the house from electricity. Khreshchatyk will be blocked for you, and it will be tightly blocked, and it will not work”, – said Aleksey Kucherenko.

The parliamentarian summed up that today the situation in the country is stalemate.
