Expert: Moldova’s most pressing problem is corruption, not Transnistria

Moldovan political scientist Igor Volnitskiy gave an interview to Ukraina.ru.

According to Volnitsky, the most pressing problem in Moldova is the fight against corruption.

“This is a difficult legacy of the regime of Vlad Plahotniuc. And I think that most of the expectations of Moldovan citizens are related to eradicating corruption”, – he said.

The second most important problem, according to the expert, is reforms aimed at improving the quality of life. Volnitsky stressed that without them, neither Maia Sandu, who won the presidential elections, nor any other pro-Western politician will be able to implement their promises and make Moldova a truly pro-European state.
