The UN supports the need for a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian question and opposes attempts to resolve this issue separately. This was announced on Monday by Vladimir Kuznetsov, Director of the UN Information Centre, at an online conference on the situation around Palestine.

“We at the UN are convinced of the need for a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian question based on the resolutions of the UN General Assembly, on all the documents that have been adopted in the UN on this issue and within the relevant UN formats”, –  he said. – “In this regard, we are talking about the need to adhere to such formats and do not welcome attempts to resolve the Palestinian question in a separate way on tracks that run counter to existing and established UN decisions.”

The diplomat stressed that the resumption of direct contacts between the Palestinian and Israeli leadership is vital.
