NATO intends to continue its mission in Afghanistan despite the decision to reduce the presence of American forces in that country

This was announced by Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference on Monday.

“The US is reducing the presence of its troops in Afghanistan [in accordance with the agreement with the Taliban. However, NATO’s “Determined Support” training mission will continue in its previous configuration, and the alliance’s European countries and partner states have already confirmed the maintenance of their contingents,” he said.
