NATO is preparing to give Georgia a chance to join – Ukraine remains “overboard”

The Alliance is seriously considering inviting Georgia to implement the Membership Action Plan (MAP), while this option is not even being discussed for Ukraine

This has been reported in the European Truth.

“It has been agreed at NATO headquarters on a technical level that Georgia has reasons to receive MAP at least tomorrow. Moreover, many tend to believe that Tbilisi has already largely met the requirements of the future Plan and that the country should have been the 31st member of the Alliance in the foreseeable future”, –  the publication says.

The decision to grant MAP will be made only after the final political agreement of all the allies on this step. However, the fact that NATO has started discussing Georgia’s accession is already a very important sign. Because for Ukraine, the Alliance did not consider this possibility in principle.
