If approved by senators, Nira Tanden will be the first woman in this position who is not a white person in the United States
Joseph Biden, the US President-elect, intends to nominate Neera Tanden as the White House Head of Administration and Budget. The Wall Street Journal reported this on Sunday, citing sources.
During the 2016 Presidential Race, Tanden worked as an adviser to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. If approved by senators, she will be the first woman at the head of this office who is not from the white population in the United States. Tanden’s parents come from India. She is currently the President of the Center for American Progress, a Washington-based think tank.
Biden is going to nominate Cecilia Rose as a candidate to chair the White House Economic Advisers Council. If approved by senators, she will also be the first woman in this position not to represent the white population. Rose is considered one of the leading economists at Princeton University.
According to The New York Times, Biden intends to appoint Brian Deez as head of the White House National Economic Council. He was Senior Advisor to the 44th President of the United States Barack Obama.
