At the same time, the current head of state said that he would “continue the fight” and believed in his victory in the elections
US President Donald Trump on Monday recommended to Emily Murphy, Head of General Affairs of the US Administration, as well as members of his administration, to “do what is necessary” regarding the initial procedures related to the transfer of authority to the next administration. This means actually starting the process of transferring power to Democrat Joseph Biden.
“Our work is going on decisively, we will continue to fight and I believe that we will win. However, in the interest of our country, I encourage Emily and her team to do what is necessary regarding the original protocols. And I told my team to do the same”, – Trump wrote on Twitter.
CNN previously reported that the General Directorate of Administration had informed Biden that it was ready to start the process of transferring presidential power to him in the country. Representatives of Biden previously reported that they had asked the agency to recognize the Democrat as the elected President of the United States. Murphy had previously refused to sign the necessary documents, indicating that Trump had not accepted his defeat and that there were no final official data that would clearly indicate Biden’s victory.
