NATO believes that Biden will continue Trump’s policy of increasing European partners’ military spending

According to Gensek, Trump had “his own style” in communicating with European partners and his expectations were “quite clear”

According to the UNN, with reference to the DW, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the likely US President Joseph Biden, like his predecessor Donald Trump, is likely to expect the Europeans to increase defence spending.

“The challenge now is to ensure that the crisis caused by the pandemic does not become a crisis not only in health but also in security. That is why we need to invest more in defence”, –  says the NATO Secretary General.  – “I am not sure that President-elect Biden will have the same expectations.”

Stoltenberg also urged Europeans not to weaken ties with the US.
