Volunteers from Armenia to test the Russian Sputnik V vaccine

Press Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Armenia Alina Nikoghosyan announced that samples of the Russian vaccine against the Sputnik V coronavirus received from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation will be tested on several volunteers.

“We received very little [vaccine], these are just samples. Several volunteers will be vaccinated”, – Nikoghosyan said.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, during a visit to Yerevan on Saturday, as part of a Russian delegation, handed over to his colleague from Armenia samples of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine.

Russia was the first in the world to register the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. The drug was developed by the Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamaleya of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and passed clinical trials this summer.
