The opening of the 5th US Army Corps took place in Poland. The total number of American troops on Polish territory will rise to 5,500. This is reported by the European truth.
“The presence of the forward command here, on Polish soil, is a guarantee that will deter a potential aggressor. From Poznan, the 5th Corps will command the US ground forces operating on NATO’s eastern flank”, – said Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.
Two hundred American troops will serve in Poznan. The command of the 5th US Corps in Poland will be the only structure of this level deployed in Europe. Its main task will be to synchronize the forces of the United States and the troops of other NATO countries.
