US destroyer headed for the Black Sea

American destroyer Donald Cook, which possesses guided missile weapons, was sent to the Black Sea on patrol. This is reported by the US Navy’s Sixth Fleet.

“USS Donald Cook DDG-75 has begun crossing the strait into the Black Sea. […] US Navy ships regularly patrol these waters in support of our allies and NATO partners”, – the Navy said.

This will mark the seventh call to the Black Sea for US warships in 2020.

Destroyer Donald Cook joined the US Navy in 1998. The destroyer is equipped with a combat control system that allows tracking and firing hundreds of targets simultaneously. He took part in the American invasion of Iraq in 2003.
