The US Senate fears to remain “unprotected from Russia”

Senate Foreign Relations Committee member Bob Menendez has spoken hard about the US decision to withdraw from the Open Skies Treaty. This is stated in a statement published on the website of the committee.

“The administration’s decision to withdraw from the Open Skies Treaty is reckless and leaves the United States and our allies less protected from Russia”, – the statement said.

Menendez noted that this agreement allowed the United States and its allies to receive information about the Russian military forces. He called on the Joe Biden administration to join the treaty.

As previously reported, the United States formally withdrew from the Open Skies Treaty on November 22. Currently, 33 countries are participating in the agreement.
