Thus, the members of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) want to “force Russia to a concrete answer”.
According to the press secretary of the TCG delegation, Oleksiy Arestovich, on the air of “hromadske”, the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in Donbass believes that the proposal to hold elections in Donbass in March 2021 “will force the Kremlin to concretize”.
“On March 31st, we asked them to quickly answer questions. Because if you put October 1 or December 1, 2021, they will say: “Well, we still have 6 months to answer”. The question is that on December 9, a year will expire since last year’s summit agreements in Paris in the Normandy format. And someone has to be guilty,” – he explained.
The corresponding proposal is laid down in the Plan of Joint Steps, which was presented by the head of the delegation, Leonid Kravchuk. Arestovich also believes that migrants who return home can join the electoral process. There are, according to him, up to 1.5 million people.
