Russia expects that trade and economic ties between Moscow and Yerevan will build up positive dynamics, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“Of course, we very much hope that our trade, economic, investment ties, which, by the way, were minimally affected during the period of coronavirus infection, that they will build up positive dynamics”, – Lavrov said at a meeting with Armenian President Armen Sarkisian.
He noted that Russia is grateful to the President of Armenia and the majority of the republic’s politicians for the position they expressed in connection with the adoption on November 9 of the statement on Karabakh.
On November 10, the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on the complete cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the statement, Armenia and Azerbaijan stop at their occupied positions, then a number of regions come under Baku’s control, the parties conduct an exchange of prisoners, Russian peacekeepers are deployed along the line of contact and the Lachin corridor connecting Karabakh with Armenia.
