Another opposition rally demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has begun in Yerevan, RIA Novosti reports.
Speaking to the audience, representative of the Dashnaktsutyun party Gegham Manukyan stated that the opposition forces continue to demand Pashinyan’s immediate resignation.
“The change of officials will not divert our attention from the main demand – Nikol Pashinyan must leave”, – Manukyan said. He accused the head of government of using brute force and repression by the police.
Opposition actions are taking place in Yerevan, its participants demand the resignation of Pashinyan due to the fact that he signed an agreement on a ceasefire in Karabakh. The Special Investigation Service of Armenia opened a criminal case under the article “organizing and holding an assembly in violation of the order established by law”, the maximum sanction of which provides for a two-month arrest.
On November 10, the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on the complete cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the statement, Armenia and Azerbaijan stop at their occupied positions, then a number of regions come under Baku’s control, the parties conduct an exchange of prisoners, Russian peacekeepers are deployed along the line of contact and the Lachin corridor connecting Karabakh with Armenia.
