Armenian President says without Putin’s efforts, youth would continue to die in Karabakh

At a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian said that without the efforts of Russian Foreign Minister and Russian President Vladimir Putin, young people would continue to die in the Karabakh conflict zone, the press service of the Armenian leader said.

“It doesn’t matter where the Armenians live, they know that if not for your efforts and the efforts of Vladimir Vladimirovich, we would continue to lose young lives today. In the first days of the war, we knew that all the efforts of the Russian leadership, the president personally, were aimed at stopping them. We were convinced once again that real friendship manifests itself in difficult times”, – the press service quoted the president as saying.

In his words, maintaining the regime of cessation of hostilities for the coming years is vitally important for Armenia.
