Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan has resigned.
The Armenian authorities want to appoint Vagharshak Harutyunyan, the head of the defense department, who now holds the post of adviser to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Harutyunyan was the Minister of Defense in 1999-2000.
